This policy explains how Lateral View Solutions Ltd (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit our website or interact with our services. We are the data controller. We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What data we collect

Contact form submissions: name, email address, optional company name, optional phone number, and message content. You provide these directly when filling out our contact form or emailing us.
Analytics data: with your consent, anonymous usage information (page views, referrer, approximate location at city level, device type) via Plausible Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. No personally identifying information.
Technical data: IP address, browser user-agent, request timestamps — processed transiently for security, rate-limiting, and abuse prevention.

3. How we use it

To respond to your enquiry and provide the services you ask for.
To improve the website's usability and performance.
To meet legal obligations (e.g. tax, accounting).
To protect our systems against abuse, fraud, and unauthorised access.

4. Lawful bases (UK GDPR Article 6)

Consent — for analytics and marketing cookies.
Legitimate interest — for responding to enquiries you initiate, security, and abuse prevention.
Legal obligation — for tax records, financial reporting.
Contract performance — once you become a client.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with processors who help us deliver the service: hosting (Vercel), email delivery (Resend), analytics (Plausible, Microsoft Clarity — only with consent), spam protection (Cloudflare). Each has a Data Processing Agreement in place.

7. International transfers

Some of our processors are based outside the UK / EEA (notably US-based providers). Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on UK-approved Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions to ensure your data remains protected.

8. How long we keep it

Contact form submissions: 3 years from last contact, then deleted.
Analytics data: aggregated, retained at the analytics provider per their default policy (typically 12–24 months).
Cookies: per the policy in our Cookie Policy.
Server logs: 30 days.

9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you;
Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data;
Request deletion (right to be forgotten);
Restrict or object to processing;
Receive your data in a portable format;
Withdraw consent at any time;
Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

10. Security

We use HTTPS site-wide (HSTS preload-ready), Content Security Policy headers, server-side rate-limiting, encrypted backups, and the principle of least privilege for internal access. No system is 100% secure — if you suspect a breach, please email us promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be flagged with a banner on the site for 14 days. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
